Les Eaux de Chanel REVIEW (Deauville, Venise, Biarritz, Riviera)

Posted on 2021-08-212021-08-22

In recent years Chanel has started to travel a lot lighter with regards to her ventures in perfumery. In 2018, Olivier Polge released the start to a new collection, one that is finally his own from the get-go, called Les Eaux. We don’t yet know how many fragrance journeys will be included in this collection,…

Colonia by Acqua di Parma REVIEW

Posted on 2021-08-152021-08-15

Now get a whiff of this: You come in from a hot day of sight-seeing in hot and humid weather to your hotel. You crave a shower more than anything, but the idea of a quick cocktail at the bar before you head to your room is too enticing. You order a bespoke cocktail upon…

Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford REVIEW

Posted on 2021-06-202021-06-20

Get a whiff of this:   You’ve walked into a gentleman’s sitting room, filled mostly with refined-looking men and women conversing in small groups enjoying scotch, and cigars or pipes. Something is being celebrated and the happiness is unrestrained, familiar, genuine. The formally dressed guests are standing, but many are also sitting on the rosewood furniture, or the dark mahogany leather chesterfields. There are numerous open decanters of scotch sitting…

Chanel No. 5 – Has it had its day?

Posted on 2021-05-152021-06-20

I recently read a clever article on Fragrantica by historian, archaeologist and fragrance author, Elena Vosnaki about Chanel No. 5, the title of which was “Is Chanel No. 5 Obsolete?” The article spurred me on to finally get it out of the way and talk about this iconic perfume. I’ll get to the point right…

Rosé All Daé by Gallagher Fragrances REVIEW

Posted on 2021-03-222021-08-15

Rosé All Daé is a truly gourmand Indie fragrance launched in 2018, by company owner and house perfumer Daniel Gallagher. That’s one very Irish name and branding, but actually the house is based in California, a state wherein one can find multitudes of indie fragrance houses. This fragrance was a top ten finalist in the…

Four Fragrances from Carthusia REVIEW

Posted on 2021-03-212021-03-21

According to legend, in 1380, the father prior of the Carthusian Monastery of St. James was caught by surprise with the news that Queen Giovanna d’Angiò would be soon arriving to Capri, so he picked a bouquet of the most beautiful flowers of the island to present to her. Sadly, the Queen ditched her plans…

Look what my cactus plant pushed forth over the weekend! There’s always something in bloom every month of the year where I live. Blessed!
Great discount on the bottle of #diorgrismontaigne ...with reason. The nozzle was busted. I googled all the things one can do in such a situation, and one actually worked!
My AI + prompt generated painting of a perfume bottle. I put "Chanel" in there, but it looks like #midjourney (the software I used) might be blocked from making use of copyrighted content (a good thing). It also generates some creepy facial features on both humans and animals. Both incredible and scarey tech, though!
